Susette Kelo, lead plaintiff in the now-infamous U.S. Supreme Court decision Kelo v. City of New London and icon for private property rights everywhere, and Pastor Fred Jenkins of St. Luke's Pentecostal Church in New York, testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on September 20, 2005. They told their personal stories of heartache and pain, all caused by the government's abuse of eminent domain to fatten their tax coffers and line the pockets of well-connected developers.
