Measures: The following list consists of measures voted on by citizens this fall. Some of them are legislative referenda and some are citizen initiatives.

 

 

 

 

Arizona: Proposition 207 is statutory language proposed through a citizen initiative.

65.2% to 34.8%

 

 

 

 

California: Proposition 90 is a constitutional amendment proposed through a citizen initiative.

47.5% to 52.5%

 

 

 

 

Florida: HJR 1569 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature.

69.1% to 30.9%

 

 

 

 

Georgia: HR 1306 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature.

82.7% to 17.3% (98% reporting)

 

 

 

 

Idaho: Proposition 2 is statutory language proposed through a citizen initiative.

24% to 76%

 

 

 

 

Louisiana: Act No. 851 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature, and approved by voters on Sept. 30, 2006.

55% to 45%

 

 

 

 

Michigan: Proposal 06-4 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature.

80.1% to 19.9%

 

 

 

 

Nevada: State Question No. 2 is a constitutional amendment proposed through a citizen initiative. Nevada law requires that a constitutional amendment be passed in two consecutive general elections, so it will be resubmitted to the voters at the 2008 General Election.

New Hampshire: Question No. 1 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature.

86% to 14%

 

 

 

 

North Dakota: Measure No. 2 is a constitutional amendment proposed through a citizen initiative.

Oregon: Measure 39 is statutory language proposed through a citizen initiative.

67% to 33%

 

 

 

 

South Carolina: Amendment 5 is a constitutional amendment passed by the legislature.
