U.S. Supreme Court Seals Fate of Tuck-It-Away

On December 13th, the U.S. Supreme Court denied Nick Sprayregen’s cert petition to hear whether or not Columbia University—a wealthy, private institution—can seize his family business in order to expand their campus.

Upon hearing the news, Nick Sprayregen said, “My family is profoundly disappointed that the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear our case.  This is truly a dark day for all Americans who care about the sanctity of private property rights.  Nonetheless, we must all move forward in our continuing attempts to change the current abuse of one of this country’s most important civil rights”.

Be sure to read Nick’s compelling story in the Huffington Post for more background on this case.
