City officials have placed all of their hopes on a Rite-Aid for a revitalized downtown in Chowchilla, Calif.
The developer behind the plan says the Rite-Aid is an “absolute blessing” for the city that will “get excitement and vitality” back into the downtown area.
City officials want the lot belonging to Terri Aquino, whose husband died at the beginning of the year. Before he died, Albert Aquino told the city he did not want to sell, but the city upped its demands.
